Why is it so boring? Nothing to do, except sit on the couch and listen to the TV. I’m so bored and I’m sick of doing nothing! I’m home alone and lonely, suddenly a brilliant idea pops into my head. I reach for my guide stick to help me walk to the front door. I open the front door and I’m hit with a fresh breeze. I can smell the freshly cut grass. Cautiously I walk to the park using my guide stick. I know I am here, I can hear the sweet sound of children’s laughter and the swing set rustling in the wind. Wait, what’s that? I think to myself. I feel a scratch on my leg. “Ruff, Ruff.” Now I have a clue!
“Ruff, Ruff,” I hear again, now I’m 100 percent sure it’s a dog. Where is his owner? I’ve been searching the whole park for ages for the dog’s owner. I wonder if it’s abandoned. I decide to take it home with me for now. I wonder what I should do with this dog? I think it needs a clean, it’s super smelly. I quickly wash the puppy in the bath and it splashes water everywhere. When he’s clean I prepare Mac and Cheese for the two of us. After lunch we take a nap. The more time I spend with the puppy the more I’m hoping that I get to keep him.
Tears are streaming down my face. Today’s the day I take the puppy to the dog pound, I’m so desperate to keep him. Nervously I enter the dog pound and hand over the puppy. I have to wait a whole week for them to search for the puppy’s owner. Each second that I wait makes every part of my body tremble. One week feels like a year. Finally there’s a knock at the door. The lady from the dog pound gives me the puppy, she says, “Congratulations, you get to keep the puppy!” I am the happiest person in the world.
Day after day me and my puppy grow closer we are the best of friends. We walk and play fetch at the park and play in the bathtub splashing the water without a care in the world. When I’m with my puppy he makes me forget that I am different and makes me feel like a normal kid. I can do and be anyone I like with my puppy.
I’m sitting on the couch listening to the TV, but something is different. I’m not lonely anymore, I’m not bored anymore because sitting next to me is my best friend.
Boredom is gone, happiness has arrived.
