Sadly, I sit at home on the couch. “Life is so boring.” I think as I shove my face with chocolate. I really wish I could see so I could run again and be free again!
Knock knock … Creak! Dad comes home and hands me a little box. I feel it. It’s made of foam. It feels expensive! I think it might be boxes of chocolate. Bark bark! “What’s that noise?” I think. Chocolate doesn’t bark! Dad hands me the box. Suddenly I feel something furry pop out. I feel it lick my face. Gross, it feels like old wet vomit. It’s so disgusting. My face screams for me to wash it.
Suddenly, I feel this furry bundle snuggle into my arms. And I know I will let it lick me whenever it wants to. It begs me to take it outside. It keeps licking me, nipping me, urging me to take it outside. I’m terrified of getting hurt. Bravely, I feel my way to the back door. The dog is pulling trying to guide me outside.
Suddenly, I feel a rush of cool air. I have so many emotions. I am joyful, excited, I can barely speak. It’s a dream come true. It feels so magical. I feel the soft grass tickle my feet, as my dog sits by me licking my face off!. Slowly, moving around the backyard, I start to feel more and more comfortable with my dog. I feel like I’m not going to trip over anything. I feel like I can trust him.
Beep beep beep! Goes my alarm clock. Today is the day we are going to the running track. I leave the house, my dog guiding me safely through the streets. Pull, pull, pull... My dog is pulling me to the running track. We get there and begin by walking. Slowly we get faster and faster, my dog guiding me all the way. As I run I almost think I can see again. I feel free!
Who would believe this fluffy thing would change my life? He is my best friend.
