Whoosh! The wind blows my long, silky, smooth hair as I’m standing in my front yard. I wish I was riding my bike. I’m bored, I go inside and watch people in bicycle races on TV. Life is ever so dull.
Rat, a, tat, tat! I wonder who that could be? I slowly creep to the door and take a peek. It’s my friend Isabella. Who else could it be? I carefully open the door. “Happy Birthday!” she yells at me.
“Hey! Come outside I have something to show you,” she says. I carefully follow her to my backyard. Outside there is a huge, colourful box with a bright red ribbon. I pull the red ribbon and confetti flies in the air and there it is in front of me. I’ve been waiting for this moment forever.
It’s a dream come true! I say in my head. Excitement flows through me, but fear does also. I jump into my surprise, my very own disability racing bike. It’s pink with 2 large wheels at the back and 1 small wheel at the front. I climb into my new bike nervously. I slowly learn how to ride. My arms are my tools to move and steer my bike. Crash! I still don’t know how to use the brakes.
After years of training, I achieve my dream to race my bike at the Olympics. I race my bike as fast as lighting. I have so many fans and I can’t believe it. That is the best moment of my life. Life is never going to be so dull again. I will never let it be.
My life is now full of happiness, laughter, and love as I fly around on my racing bike.
