Konnichiwa from Yan Yean. Our 5/6 students are very excited to have started learning Japanese. Tom and Nick from Mernda Central have been visiting our learning community and engaging students in conversational Japanese by playing games and singing songs. Last week we had a visit from Natsuki, who shared photos of landmarks and local foods from Yokohama. This term, the students in YYLC have been competing against other schools from the Bridge Inn District in Soccer and Cricket. It's been a massive learning opportunity for everyone and our teams have been improving with each week. We have our final game of the term this Friday and everyone is ready to put all the skills we've been learning into our games on Friday! GOOOOO MERNDA! Mernda Park Primary School was pleased to announce our school captain for 2019! All of the students in grades 5 and 6 wrote their own speeches on why they should become school captain and delievered them in front of their peers as well as Mary and Caroline. School Captains: Eve and Manjir Vice Captains: Joey and Cooper Congratulations to these four wonderful students who were voted by their peers to not only represent YYLC, but also Mernda Park Primary School with the duties that come with being a school captain. We know they will do us all proud! Today, some students from YYLC attended a Teeball Gala Day for the Bridge Inn District. For some of us, it was our first time playing teeball so we were both nervous and excited! We were so busy throughout the day, we didn't get to take many pictures! |
