We are developing our vocabulary related to sensory experiences through making play dough. We are learning new words such as ‘kneading’, ‘squishy’, ‘stretchy’ and ‘vibrant’ to help us draw and describe our exciting learning experience. In PLC we are exploring what different materials look and feel like. We worked collaboratively to build a strong house using wooden materials. The big bad hairdryer visited to PLC to test how strong our houses were. Last week, the preppies used craft materials and modelling clay to create storyboard settings and characters from the fairy tale - Little Red Riding Hood. The prep students used their story board settings and clay characters to practise retelling what happened in the beginning, middle and at the end of the fairy tale. PLC students were particularly excited about being able to take these home to continue retelling the story to their families. The preppies have been busy making scrumptious, crunchy, colourful fairy bread as a stimulus for this weeks writing piece. Take a look at some photos of the preps carefully following each step in the fairy bread recipe. YUM, YUM, YUM! This week in PLC, we have been learning how to share objects equally into groups through play based, hands on activities. We really enjoyed sharing teddy counters equally into teddy cars and sharing ocean treasure equally amongst sea creature counters. |
