our first ever house event...colour run!

5/5/2023

Picture

The day started off with a bang! People dressed up in the colours representing their houses. The 9 - 12 races went on first in the morning. The 9 - 10 boys race went on first followed by the 9 - 10 girls, the 11 boys, the 11 girls then finally the 12 boys & 12 girls ran the track that ranged from 2km to 3km! People screamed till their voices turned hoarse, encouraging each other and cheering one another on. We finished our races exhausted and puffed out, but proud and overjoyed that we had managed to run the insane distances we had completed. We all had done a phenomenal job and given our absolute best no matter our place. What an amazing morning for the Grade 3 - 6’s!

The next races were the Prep to Grade 2 races in the afternoon. The prep boys followed by prep girls ran first showing an astounding effort for their first time at the colour run. They were followed by grade 1 boys and girls, finally rounding out the races with the grade 2 boys and girls. The student leadership team along with Jensen (Grade 4) guided them through the tracks, spurring them on and motivating them through the course offering support and encouragement. They sprinted their hardest giving the absolute best effort. After all the races had been completed one last run for fun with the parents and students combined was run, whether they: walked, sprinted, jogged through the course everyone had a time of their life enjoying every little moment of it smiling and laughing along the way. At the end of the day the winning houses were announced KERR in Red for the preps to 2 races and MILLS in Green for the 3 - 6 races.  No matter what place you came, or whether your house won or not, the only thing that matters is that you tried your absolute best and had a great time participating in our 2023 Colour Run! Awesome work MPPS Superstars!
