City of Whittlesea Youth SUmmit

15/9/2025

On Thursday 11 September, our four school captains, Aarna, Ethan, Chloe and Dante, attended the City of Whittlesea Youth Summit. The day consisted of sessions focused on giving these young leaders a voice and building their confidence. The ideas from this summit will be collated by the City of Whittlesea in conjunction with La Trobe University to inform the City of Whittlesea Youth Plan for 2026.
Here is what our student leaders thought:
“The Youth Summit taught me that anyone can be a leader, no matter who they are. It was such an honour to attend The City of Whittlesea Youth Summit, and I am grateful to take part in such a fun get together with all the schools.” - Aarna
“Thank you for inviting us to this event, we feel privileged and hope to see ourselves in the youth council in the future to make a difference to the City Of Whittlesea. ‘ - Ethan
“I enjoyed the Youth Summit because it gave youth leaders and students in our community an opportunity to have a voice on topics such as mental health and wellbeing and how we can support youths in our community. We enjoyed fun activities at lunch time like VR, live animals, henna art and so much more! We were so lucky to be invited and to represent MPPS at the City of Whittlesea Youth Summit. Thank you Holly for taking us!” - Chloe
“I enjoyed today's youth summit and glad I had the chance to attend..
I got a better understanding about leadership. One thing I learnt was good leaders help, guide and inspire others. I also liked how they put fidgets on every table, it helped me concentrate.” - Dante
