Six-Word Memoirs: Personal Stories in Few Words

Students in the Yan Yean Learning Community have been exploring the power of words through the creation of six-word memoirs. This activity challenges students to tell a personal story or share a meaningful idea using only six carefully chosen words.
Students reflected on their own experiences, memories and feelings before crafting a short memoir that captured something important about their lives. After writing, students had the opportunity to share their memoirs with their classmates, creating a space for thoughtful discussion and connection.
It was wonderful to see how much meaning students could communicate in just six words. This activity encouraged creativity, reflection and confidence as students shared small snapshots of their personal stories with others.
