On Wednesday 9th September, the Mernda Park Primary School community came together for our 2026 Writers’ Festival, transforming our spaces into a vibrant showcase of student talent.

A Garden of Student Talent
Taking inspiration from our school wide Gardens theme, students across all year levels spent weeks cultivating their storytelling skills and crafting accompanying artwork. From imaginative narratives to striking visual pieces, the depth of thought and effort on display throughout the Learning Communities was remarkable.

Celebrations & Highlights

• Grand opening: Our Grade 6 student leaders set a wonderful tone for the day, followed by a sensational, high-energy performance from the MPPS Choir.
• Interactive fun: Families explored the vibrant displays while hunting for clues in our festival Scavenger Hunt—it was fantastic seeing so many families engaged with the work!
• Community spirit: A heartfelt thank you to every family member who attended. Your encouragement gives our budding authors and artists the confidence to let their imaginations soar.
• Behind the scenes: This event wouldn't have been possible without the tireless dedication of our teaching and support staff, who worked behind the scenes to bring the festival to life.
