a picture is worth a thousand words!

Whether it is Media Arts, Dance, Drama or Music, Performing Arts is about STORYTELLING. In  order for students to build and create meaningful Media artworks within Term 1 and Term 2, we needed to first explore how to detect the STORIES hidden in Media artworks that already exist.
Renee was so excited to facilitate the discussions, turn-and-talks, questions, and workbook tasks in response to analysing Media artworks, such as photographs and digital art. Across SLC, CLC, and YYLC classes, students have been using the process of "I see... I think... I wonder..." to break down an image into simple parts and collaboratively agree on the highlighted message, story, or life lesson. 
This has been a wonderful way to reintroduce MPPS students to the rights and responsibilities we have at Mernda Park Primary School, such as environmental awareness, making friends, equality, gratitude. This exploration has allowed our SLC students to identify emotions, and for CLC students and YYLC students to notice the Principles of Photography.
