Interschool Sport – Round 5 Recap

30/5/2025

After Round 4 was washed out by wet weather, our students were more than ready to get back into action for Round 5—and they didn’t disappoint!

This week we played away against St Paul’s, with our three sports spread across different locations:
  • Netball at St Paul’s
  • Soccer at Painted Hills
  • AFL 9s at Waterview Reserve

Despite the spread, our teams brought their energy and determination to every venue, finishing the round with a solid 4 wins from 6 games!

A big shoutout to our dependable Grade 5 fill-ins: Sofia, Leah, and Brianna—thank you for stepping up and giving it your best!

District Cross Country 2025

28/5/2025

What a day! On a cold and blustery Wednesday, 58 determined students from Grades 3 to 6, along with our dedicated staff – Tess, Ryan, Lynda and Maddi – made their way to the Kilmore Racing Club to compete in the Bridge Inn North District Cross Country event.

The wind may have been biting, but the spirit of our students was even stronger. With hearts full of courage and legs ready to run, every participant gave their absolute best, showing incredible resilience and sportsmanship. Thankfully, the hot food from the canteen was a welcome treat, helping to warm chilly fingers and fuel our runners throughout the day.

We are so proud of each and every student who participated. Your effort, enthusiasm, and support for one another were inspiring to witness.

A huge thank you goes to the wonderful families who braved the weather to cheer on our runners. Your support means the world and helps make days like this so special.

Special congratulations to our eleven amazing students who have qualified for the Division Cross Country next Wednesday: Luca, Gianni, Shaelah, Talia, Kai, Jake, Keiran, Jensen, Alek, Harper and Hannah – we’ll all be cheering you on!

And a final celebration – our school placed 3rd overall in the district! A fantastic achievement that reflects the strength, effort and spirit of our whole team.

Hockey 7s Gala Day

14/5/2025

Yesterday, 20 enthusiastic Grade 6 students represented our school at the Bridge Inn North District Hockey 7s Gala Day, held at the Greensborough Hockey Club. With perfect weather and a buzzing atmosphere, our teams faced off against six other schools from across the district. It was a fantastic day of sport, teamwork, and fun—with the canteen proving to be a crowd favourite! A huge congratulations to our mixed (boys) team who took out the top spot overall. Normally, the next step would be the division level, but since that's not running this year, they’ll head straight to the regional finals on Wednesday the 6th of August. We’re so proud of all our players and can’t wait to see how the team performs at regionals!

Celebrating National PE and Sport Week at MPPS!

7/5/2025

Over the past two weeks, MPPS proudly celebrated National PE and Sport Week – a time to recognise the importance of movement, teamwork, and having fun through physical activity.
To mark the occasion, our amazing Grade 6 Student Leaders stepped up to organise and run exciting breaktime activities for each learning community. Their energy, organisation, and leadership helped make the week a big success!

Here’s how we celebrated:
  • PLC and SLC got their groove on with a fun-filled dance party in the stadium.
  • YYLC and CLC faced off in fast-paced games of dodgeball, with loads of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition.

It was fantastic to see students getting active, encouraging one another, and joining in with big smiles on their faces. A big thank you to our Student Leadership Team for bringing the fun and to everyone who participated!

Check out some of the highlights below!
