CARE & Being a Good Sport

The first four weeks of PE have focused on what it means to be a good sport and how we demonstrate our school’s CARE values – Collaboration, Achievement, Responsibility and Empathy – in every lesson.

Our Prep students have been learning the foundations of teamwork through fun balloon “keepy uppy” activities. They have been practising taking turns, sharing equipment, and being personally responsible for their own balloon. These early experiences help build independence, focus and respect for others.

Students in Years 1–6 have been participating in a variety of team games designed to strengthen collaboration and communication skills. They have learned how to adapt to changing game situations, include others, and support their teammates. A big focus has been understanding that being a good sport means being both a good winner and a good loser — showing respect, encouragement and empathy no matter the outcome.

It has been fantastic to see students demonstrating positive attitudes, teamwork and resilience right from the beginning of the year.
