DISTRICT LAWN BOWLS GALA @ WHITTLESEA BOWLS CLUB

The Mernda Park Primary School lawn bowls team arrived at Whittlesea Bowls Club to compete against three other schools. We started well, as all of our teams won the 1st round against Whittlesea Primary School. It was challenging as each lawn bowl is weighted differently, making it curve when you roll it straight. It was extremely fun trying out different strength levels with different bowls, attempting to find the right one for each of us. Eventually, after all three rounds, they announced which teams were going to compete in the finals. The first school that got called up was St Mary’s, followed by Mernda Park. The entire team was determined to achieve first place. The round started and teams blue, red and white gave it all they got. Then it was time for the announcement for who came first and second. The team was anticipating every moment, keen of the results. Mernda Park came first!
