Measurement and Geometry

We explored length as part of the SLC Term 1 Maths unit. Students decorated and folded paper planes and then stood at a starting point before throwing their planes outside. Students used informal uniform units of paces to estimate and measure the distance that the planes travelled. We discussed how our results differed depending on the individual paces. Students estimated and measured the length of different ‘bunny trails’ around SLC with their Maths buddies. Students chose the best fit tool such as: icypole sticks for longer tails and paper clips for shorter bunny trails.
