Imagine A World Where Dogs Can Talk

I'm asleep, for now. It's 6:15 AM in the morning, I'm hearing voices. "Wake up. TJ, wake up. Wake up”. I feel a paw poking at my face. I feel something licking me. I finally wake up, giggling. I sat up seeing Honey sitting on my lap. "Hi Honey" I say in my baby voice. "Morning TJ" said Honey. I blink, confused. "AAAAAA!!!" we say together and then go to the opposite sides of the bed. "wait…HOW!?''

For the next 2 hours we asked each other questions. Until the priceless question came. ''Sooo…should we try and figure out how this has happened?'' Honey asked. ''I think we should,'' I replied. We told mama everything and then packed a bag each. I packed Honey's bag and carried both. We found a city map. First we went to the schools, then the football ovals and then the city. But we didn't find anything. And then a mystical forest appeared before us…

"I don't wanna go in the forest, it looks scary" said Honey. " Come ooooonnnn we might actually figure this out'' I said exasperated. ''Hmmmmmmm aargh fine!'' said Honey, irritated. The forest was green, floral with colours and crawling with little creatures. We walked for hooooouuuurs. The trees rustled like voices gossiping in secret.  Until we came across some sort of shrine. ''Do you wish to know the secret?'' a voice whispered. ''Yes…we…d-do?'' I whimpered. The voice continued ''the secret is…''

''Ok sooo - our bond has gotten SO strong that we understand each other?'' Honey asked, completely mystified. I was as confused as a blind puppy. ''Yes, did you not understand what I said? Do I need to say it again?'' the voice whispered, exasperated . ''No'' I said firmly. ''So… what do we do now?’’ I said, curiously. “What else? Remove the magic and you can return to your ordinary lives like nothing ever happened’’ said the voice sounding like an expert. Does she get this a lot? “But I don’t wanna do that! I like being able to talk to Tj'' said Honey in panic. “You do have a choice not to. I was just assuming” the spirit said indignantly. “So we leave? Just like that? No ‘you must pay something special’? I've watched the stuff that Tj watches and there's ALWAYS a price to pay. And it never ends well” said Honey, a bit skeptical. “Well you are allowed to offer something to me” the voice said hopefully. “ Uh, we're fine, thanks,” I replied. “NO WAIT, TJ!” yelled Honey in complete panic mode. She ripped her back off my back, pulled the zipper, and started searching. “FOUND IT!” Honey yelled out of breath. She has the beef jerky I packed for her. “Here you go!” said Honey joyfully. “Oh….well….yes thank you” the spirit said in awe yet in confusion. “Well if you need me again, you know where to find me” said the spirit, cheerfully.

We left the shrine, and chatted all the way home, talking about our epic adventure. We finally got home at 6 pm and Mama was worried sick and about to call the police, until we showed up. We told her about our adventure (without the sacrifice stuff) and after dinner we watched TV. After that we played tug and then cuddled up on my bed and fell asleep together.

The unexpected will hit you in the weirdest times
