Grade 6 Taster day at Mernda Central College

Our Grade 6 students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Mernda Central College for a Year 7 Taster Day as they begin preparing for their transition to secondary school next year.
Throughout the day, students experienced a variety of engaging and hands-on lessons, giving them a taste of what life in Year 7 will be like. They participated in a Japanese class, where they learned simple greetings and explored aspects of Japanese culture. In PE, students got active and worked together in fun team challenges, showing great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. The Digitech session was another highlight — students explored coding and digital problem-solving, discovering how technology plays a big role in their future learning.
It was wonderful to see our students approach each activity with curiosity, confidence, and a willingness to try new things. The day gave them a real sense of excitement about the opportunities that await them in secondary school.
We’re very proud of the way our Grade 6s represented our school and can’t wait to see them continue to grow as they prepare for this next big step!
