During our Integrated Studies unit ‘Community’, we completed a short oral presentation about our families. We have apples! We were super excited to pick the ripe apples from our MPPS apple trees which were planted 5 years ago. We counted 48 apples! We were lucky enough to eat our juicy, fresh and delicious apples during brain food time. We are learning very important literacy and numeracy skills as this aims to form a foundation upon which further learning is built. We have been reading many books from the ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’ series and have enjoyed learning about the different farm animals. We have worked together to decorate farm animals from the book ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’s farm’ to create an eye-catching display in our learning community. We hope you enjoy viewing our display as much as we enjoyed creating it.
We really enjoyed our first PMP session in the stadium! PMP is a program designed to assist in the development of our skills such as our balance, co-ordination, space, body awareness, strength and fitness. We can't wait to progress through the evolving PMP activities and further our skills each week. We had a lot of fun creating number puppets using the numbers 1 to 6. We enjoyed drawing the correct number of dots to match the numerals on our puppets. We loved counting and creating cute puppets to take home for further number learning. We have been working on our hand and finger strength through fun and tricky fine motor activities. The stronger our fingers and hands become, the easier it will be for us to hold our pencils and write. Take a look at some of the exciting learning experiences and activities we have engaged in during our first week of prep! We are very excited to be learning new things. We had a FANTASTIC first day of prep on Friday the 29th of January. The students and teachers engaged in many play-based learning experiences, read lots of stories, sung and danced to favourite songs and begun learning new routines. The teachers enjoyed connecting with students and families and building a positive learning culture. |
