TERM 1 PHYSICAL EDUCATION OVERVIEW
This term in PE, students will focus on developing both their physical skills and understanding of the MPPS Care Values. From Weeks 1 to 4, the whole school will engage in games and physical challenges that highlight Collaboration, Achievement, Responsibility, and Empathy. From Weeks 3 to 8, students in YYLC will participate in swimming lessons at Kingswim Mernda on Fridays at 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm, focusing on water safety and swimming skills.
In Weeks 5 to 10, students in SLC & CLC will develop their basketball skills with the guidance of an external coach. Students in YYLC will challenge themselves by engaging in games that require teamwork and strategy to achieve a set goal. Prep students will focus on Fundamental Movement Skills, learning throwing and catching in Weeks 5 to 7, followed by object control skills through ball bouncing in Weeks 8 to 10. We’re looking forward to an exciting and active term ahead!
Additionally, students in YYLC (Grade 5/6) will participate in Interschool Sports each Friday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, where they will have the opportunity to compete in Basketball, Cricket, or Tee Ball against other schools. The fixture with dates and venues can be found further below.

SPORTS CLUB
3/4 Sports Club is run by Kosta at lunchtime on Wednesdays and Fridays each week, while 5/6 Sports Club is run by Anthony at lunchtime on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays each week.
The Aims of Sports Club:

- To promote student voice, giving students a chance to referee games and identify examples of students who demonstrate our CARE values - Daily CARE Captain awards
- a program that motivates and challenges students to achieve their full potential
CARE CAPTAIN AWARD: At the end of each lunch time (game) the referees will award the CARE CAPTAIN BADGE (sticker) to the player that has best displayed the focus RRRR value of the day.
This student will then be the TEAM CAPTAIN for the following lunch time and be responsible for:
