LUNCHTIME CLUBS

Origami Club VisitorS

6/9/2023

Origami Club invited some PLC students to visit our club last week.
During the session, Origami Club members taught Preps how to make an Origami Dog (犬 -Inu).
It was amazing to see Origami Club members remembering how to make an Origami Dog and teaching the Origami skills to younger students in a kind and caring manner. We also loved seeing the big smiles on our wonderful PLC students.

The Green Team have been busy planting some more seeds, watering and looking after our crops. The students are growing radishes, beetroot, snow peas and broccoli. The Green Team can’t wait to watch them grow.

TErm 3 art club

5/9/2023

This term saw the beginning of the Art Club, which has become a calm and relaxing environment for students to take a breath and relax. The students have really enjoyed doing activities such as:
  • Creating a Courage Bracelet - some students wore theirs while others decided to join theirs together to make a Courage Bracelet chain
  • Colour your Heart - students named their emotions and coloured in their heart to show how they were feeling
  • Softness project - we explored textures that made us feel calm and glued them to a piece of cardboard
  • What makes you smile - students created artworks to show what their teachers do that makes them smile. These artworks will be displayed in the office to make our MPPS teachers smile.

Senior Choir

Eariler this year we celebrated Harmony Day at MPPS. The senior choir worked hard to rewrite the lyrics to 'What a Wonderful World' and changed it to 'What an Inclusive World'.

Origami Club

12/7/2023

Origami Club runs every Thursday at lunchtime.
In Term 1 and 2, CLC students have made hearts, cats, lotus flowers, bulldogs, rabbits, crabs, tiger, Pikachu's, bookmarks, Ninjas and more. Students have been showing great collaborative skills in the club working together and helping each other. We give away 'Origami Club Visitor Pass' to students in other learning communities. This gives opportunities for Origami Club members to teach their Origami skills to others.

We are trialling a new weekly club at MPPS during recess. It is an Art Club with a focus on student wellbeing.
We will be working on building confidence and understanding the processing of different emotions.
This club will run on Tuesdays in the first half of snack time (10:45 – 11:05).
We have worked together as a team to select students to trial this exciting new club, and this list will evolve as the year progresses.
The club includes students from Prep to Year Six which helps encourage new friendships and offer leadership opportunities for our older students.
