The value of kindness is very important to us in PLC. We have been showing our appreciation, love and generosity to the people around us who matter the most by spreading ‘KINDNESS’. Take a look at some of the ways we have chosen to be kind to our special someone. This week's remote learning challenge encouraged us to use our creative thinking as we used household objects to build or construct something. Take a look at our brilliant builders!This week in PLC, we have been ‘Helpful Heroes’ as part of our remote learning challenge. We have been helping our family members in our household by helping out with the dishes, vacuuming, cleaning, gardening and have helped out in many other ways… take a look! This week PLC celebrated '100 Days of Learning'. We felt very special receiving a surprise package in the mail from our teachers. We are now 100 days WISER, BRIGHTER and SMARTER! In PLC, we are learning to use descriptive language to help create a 'visual' image of different fairy tale characters. Take a look to see some of our superstar writers.We have been learning about different 3D shapes such as cubes, spheres, cylinders and cones. We have been busy making ‘3D Shaped Creatures’ using various materials from around our homes or school to create our creatures. Take a look at some of the creative creatures we have made! This week's remote learning challenge was to demonstrate an exercise technique of choice. In PLC, we love to keep our minds and bodies healthy. Take a look to see some of our 'athletes' in action! We have been busy cooking and baking some delicious food as part of our remote learning challenge. Have a look at some of the wonderful food we made! YUM, YUM, YUM! We have been learning about and using the language of length, such as ‘longer’, ‘shorter’, ‘smaller’ and ‘taller’ to compare and describe objects. Students drew pictures of dinosaurs and used unifix blocks to measure the height of their dinosaur.
Students read many books from the ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’ series and had fun learning about the different farm animals. The students created a display and decorated an animal of their choice from the book ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’s Farm’ using various materials.
During writing we have been focusing on our five senses to help us explore and describe things in nature. We created a ‘leaf pal’ using leaves we collected during a nature hunt. We enjoy using powerful adjectives in our sentences to make our writing more interesting. In PLC we enjoy listening to stories. Take a look at us sharing a story together in our library. We can’t wait to begin borrowing books to read with our families and friends at home. PMP is a program where small groups of children rotate through a number of ‘stations’ taking part in activities designed to develop balance, co-ordination, space, body awareness and fitness. We really enjoy our PMP time in the stadium. Take a look at some of the exciting learning experiences and activities we have engaged in during our first week of prep! We are very excited to be learning new things. We have been learning about and using the language of location and direction, such as ‘between’, ‘next to’, ‘behind’, ‘infront’, ‘forwards’ and ‘backwards’ to move through our playground obstacle course. |
