Imagine A World
We prepared for the long journey. The airport was hectic and busy with sounds of talking, bag carriers and aeroplanes taking off. People running all over the place early, late, panicking to make their flight. But then… things seemed to slow as the News reported something strange. Without warning the media exploded, the News alerts and phones ringing all over the place. People panicking wanting to escape the city, then the country, then the world. Different things are happening every second. Then the state started transforming into nature but people said it was finished, but they are very wrong! You can hear the sounds of life changing, everyone screaming, people looking frantic, emotional and running all over the place. “This isn’t funny anymore,” I thought to myself. While most people ran, some people stood still, frozen in fear. The city was turning into nature. Green was popping up everywhere - taking over the world. It was getting worse every second that passed by. Frantically people wondered how they would survive this new scary world? I dropped deeper into this lost world. It was scary and frightening. In this world I know not to trust people. Everywhere is green. The only thing people see is the green world. Now for one second the green world stood still and we saw the most amazing, beautiful thing happening - the green was beginning to fall apart, everyone slowed down and then stood still. A new place, a new home, a new kingdom. The world is starting to come back. People think it’s fake. But thankfully the world is calm, peaceful, safe and fresh. Life is coming back, nature is disappearing. Colours are coming back, it feels like we are hallucinating. People crying tears of happiness. People running with joy. The world is a new place. The world will change no matter what. Storyteller: Karl W Imagine A World Above
Imagine a world where the stars are floating windows and the sky is never blue. It was never like this…I always feel like I haven’t slept, I’m always tired and I never know why. My bedroom is cold from the window being open, but I don’t think that's why I never get sleep. It’s like I feel…corrupted. My body feels like it’s not functioning properly. Every night I go to bed and I hear people chatting in the sky. I wake up to talking outside of my window. I get out of my bed and sit on the window frame, questioningly I look up to the sky. There are bright windows filling up the sky. Suddenly I see a girl my age, she looks at me. “Hi!” says the girl quietly. “Hi?” I reply confused. She holds out her hand appearing to be upside down, I reach for it. I jump, excited for this adventure. I start to fall but I’m falling up to the sky! She catches my hand and pulls me in. “Are we upside down or was I upside down?” I ask the girl. “No one knows,” she replies quietly. “C’mon, let's go!” she shouts, she runs down the hall of her home with me and we race to her kitchen. “Wow! It’s so big!” I exclaim. “Shhhh!! My parents are sleeping so be quiet please.” We tiptoe to the lounge room and turn on the TV. The news people are talking about the two worlds that have been discovered by a scientist. “Oh no,” the girl says worried, “This is bad…” “They are coming for us…” says the girl, “we have to hide!” “Why?” I ask shocked. “Because they think we are magical.” We find supplies in a rush and put them in a backpack. We put on a disguise and clabber through the window. “Where are we going to go?” I ask confused. “We must run away from home.” We jump from the window, not knowing which way to go. It feels like the world stops when we are in the air. We start to fall upside down in the sky slowly, the girl holds my hand tightly. We jump to the other building, time goes fast again like the world stopped for us. We run towards the unknown… We find a new place, a beautiful enclosed ecosystem far away from the city. The scientists won’t find us here. This is a place where both worlds can live together in harmony. “This place is…AMAZING!” I shout. We walk to a train station with our bag of supplies, then the train rushes to the station. We hop on the train excited and anxious for our great adventure to begin. The new world above. Storyteller: Sarah W Imagine A World Reversed
Imagine a world where everything is reversed. The sky's the ground and the ground is the sky. I’ll always remember what the world had been like for me before that. But now I’m stuck in my bedroom, feeling trapped and lonely. I hope this madness will end. I wish everything would be reversed… I decided to go outside my living room, looking for something to do. I tiptoed down in the dusty, creepy, old basement. As I walked to the workshop, I spotted an unknown machine. I thought it was a toy at first, but when I got closer and closer I heard a strange buzzing noise. Paralyzed I stood there shocked. The buzzing stopped suddenly. With a deep sigh, I reset my mind. I slowly returned upstairs trying not to be distracted by the machine. The next morning, I went back down to the basement and there I found the strange machine. I tried to turn the machine on but there were no buttons, I tried breaking it but that was no use either. I stood there thinking, confused about what to do but then… a glittering orb appeared out of nowhere. It opened a portal to an unknown world. I tried to escape but I was slowly pulled towards the portal… I see a wonderful world. It feels like a dream. The ocean breeze touches my face and the soft silky golden sand sinks under my feet. The crystal clear water shimmers in the sun. I wonder to myself - where am I? I look around, and dive further into the jungle next to the island. Dusk broke and it got darker. I soon found shelter and rested. Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like days. The next morning I heard another buzzing sound. The same orb appeared and asked me if I wanted to leave. Excitedly I said, “Yes!” I woke up feeling dizzy, the machine was no longer there… I walked up the stairs realising I was at home… relieved I went back to my bedroom to take a snooze. Safe at last… Storyteller: Jason V Imagine A World Where Everything Is Morphed
In my world things are reversed - up is down, down is up, black is white, white is black. As I laid in my dark, scary, black room, a weird, dusty smell flooded the air. This gave me a feeling of excited butterflies in my tummy and it dragged me out into the backyard. I can see dirty, disgusting mud turning into beautiful, green grass. Roots turning into flowers, dead trees turning into nice, alive bushes. I walk to the nearby junkyard. I freak out as the junk begins turning into hills, puddles turned to beautiful, alive bugs, and the water turned to lava. I start to run faster than a motorbike to escape to my room as the flowing, burning lava is destroying everything in it’s path. I lock the door quickly. The closet makes me safe. I go in quickly, but I then realise it's a dead end. I peek out of my bedroom window and scout the area like an eagle. My door begins to break down. Red as fire, hot as an oven, my safety…gone. At the last second I jumped out of my window , I ran to the other side of my street to get away “Oh no…the lava is GIGANTIC!” I think. My heart races, I'm scared and freaked out. I run but everything is morphing, “What will I do now?” I ran as fast as I could, until suddenly something caught my attention. I grabbed a weird mysterious gun. I started shooting it. It shoots a weird paint turning everything back to normal, the colours brighter than a stage show. I feel relieved. I start turning everything to normal - no more lava, no more fear. I feel super good, happy, joyful and amazed. The future is secured. Storyteller: Louie S Imagine A World In Flight
I’ll always remember when the world was normal. In my normal world, I'd always wanted to fly. I just loved the idea of flight. I loved Superman because he could fly, as well as Wonder Woman, Green Lantern(animated) and Thor. Strangely I had forgotten to wish to control the ability to fly. But it was only a dream so I didn’t need to wish for everything to go right… As my head hits my pillow I fall into a deep, deep slumber. When I woke up I was suddenly jolting with joy - it was Saturday. I checked the NEWS and saw the regular weather and sports but I saw something not so regular. It read, “Something odd is happening in Asia and we’re all stuck here wondering what’s going on.” I immediately thought it was a virus or a secret war, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me enjoying my thrilling weekend. I went to the beach just as planned but what happened next that day still shakes me… I laid down on my towel and closed my eyes. I opened my eyes to some kid in his teens leaning over me and tapping my shoulder, “Hey get up, everyone’s leaving!” I jokingly replied, “Oh yeah? Might as well leave because of the seaweed.” I chuckled it off, unfazed and closed my eyes again. I was again awoken - this time to the sound of screaming. I saw the water rapidly rising. Quickly I got up and started sprinting, I warned everyone I saw, “GET OUT. RUN!” But it was too late. For me and for everyone else the air grabbed people tight. People’s dogs, parents and children were all rising into the sky. Floating up slowly, defensively and unluckily. The only thing stopping them from going up to Space were the clouds (luckily they’re a few hundred thousand kilos). I was one of the lucky ones to get a large cloud to share. Others? I don’t know what happened to those poor souls. I prayed and wished for seven whole years that the world would go back to normal, and you know what? Nothing! Not a single change. Instead I survived by eating the animals that would occasionally float past and by drinking, I would drink from the clouds and the water from the river and the oceans. I hated this new world. No matter how many times I prayed and begged, nothing ever changed. We lived like this and we just had to get used to it. As you can easily guess, I preferred the old world rather than this new one. My old world was green, majestical and relaxing, where in this new world everything is dull and blood chilling. I bet you 100 dollars that the world will never change. Now I am stuck here wondering if I hadn’t wished for the ability to fly would the world be normal? Was this disaster all my fault? If only I could go back. Be careful what you wish for. Story Teller: Braydon R Imagine A World Full Of Happiness
Picture a world full of happiness, screaming kind, positive and joyous things. I wish my world was like that again. As I sat on a soaked bench in the bucketing rain I slowly got up to go home. The staggeringly strong wind pushes me away, making me feel that I don’t belong at home. Everyone walked past me with depressed faces. Our world was never like this. Before this world it was bright with sweet clouds like cotton candy and the dazzling daisies giving everyday a beautiful glow and the shimmer of the sun. But now our world is nothing but dark and gloomy trees, it makes me feel miserable. A huge crowd catches my eye. As I stroll over I notice that everyone is wearing a black face covering mask. The Mayor is showing the town something. I take another deep step into the crowd. I could see the item, then barely I hear voices saying, “It looks just like back in the days when the world was bright,” and “It reminds me of the sky, remember?” With courage and anticipation, I push my way through the hoards of people to where the Mayor presented… A star..a beautiful star! It was bright and had the colours of blue, green and pink. When the Mayor asked the town where to put it the scientist butted in and said, “Lock it up in the lab!” The Mayor declared, “We will lock it up in a safe.” I started to worry. The people are reaching their greasy hands to get it. I think to myself, “I need to get that star before it lives in torture!” I slowly and carefully crawl on the ground and I push through what seems like a million feet. I finally make it in the middle of the crowd, “I can't be like in the movies where they reach their goal then sit there just waiting. I have to get it before their eyes.” My heart racing, I run towards the star. I feel the star on my fingertips. I quickly slide to get it and think, “This is it, this is my big moment! This is my only chance to keep a piece of the old world still going.” As I snatch the star out of the Mayor's hands I quickly run off before he even notices me. I hide behind a wall and take a peek at the Mayor. He has an angry look on his face. He yells something but I can’t quite hear it. Before he even sees me I run to my house holding the star. The star is glistening. I stare at it for a while but I now notice it dimming, I start to worry. I found my bike sitting in the old rust bike shed, so I grabbed it. My bike’s white with white butterflies, the butterflies are quite scratched off though and my bike is very rusty. I hop on my bike and I drive off to my house…I finally arrive at my house. As I clamber into my house I run to my room and close the door quietly because my parents are sleeping. I come into my room EXHAUSTED my bed is pulling me towards it. I collapse on my bed and my eyes feel sleepy, they start to close...I try to stay awake but the next thing I know I was asleep. My dreams are wildly scary. I try to wake but the horror takes over me. After 30 mins I woke up in shock. Suddenly something comes into my head and it's telling me something. I know what I have to do. I quickly walk to the basket that I had put the star in and take it out carefully. My parents are still sleeping, they're such sleepy heads! I walk even faster with the star in a blanket. I walk out, shutting the door quietly. I run through the dead grass to a place I’ve been before on a hill. This is my time to do it. I slowly let my hands release the star..the star stays low at first but then gets higher and higher until it goes towards the sky. Going deeper and deeper away until…all I can see is a little tiny shimmery white dot. I finally did it! I set the star free! … But what do I do now? I stroll home. I open the door to my home and walk down the hallway to my room and flump on my bed..I hear my Mother shouting. “Come outside and look at what's happening! Quick!” said my Mother barging in my room. I walk out to the backyard and notice that the grass is green, the sky is bright blue and the shimmering sun is out. I walk to the front yard to see the flowers all blooming to life! And the Dazzling Daisies in the wind! It's a miracle! Storyteller: Georgia Q Imagine A World
Imagine a world where dreams come to life! The world I live in has become miserable, gloomy and depressing. I wake up every day being bored. Everyday the same thing over and over again. Then suddenly I hear something outside… I slowly tiptoed outside. The mountains near my house are ginormous, humongous and covered in green trees. BANG! BANG! It's coming from the peak of the mountain. I sprint to the bottom of the mountain to check it out. Without warning, a boy appeared out of no where. “HEY?” I wonder who this boy is. “COME UP HERE!” he yelled. Should I trust him? I decided to carefully follow him. Slowly and out of nowhere I was in the sky. “AHHH!!” I yelled. Then I realised the boy is gone - I feel like I'm going to collapse. Suddenly I fell back to the ground! “AHHH!” I woke up in bed wondering what just happened. Had I been dreaming? I walked outside. I looked at the peak of the mountain and suddenly decided to walk there to see if the boy was real. When suddenly…. I stopped in my tracks ‘’Hello!’’ Ahh, it's the boy! Follow your dreams. Without warning I hear a whip crack. I awake from my slumber. I look at the clock 1 hour left! I head to my last class - maths. During maths, I feel claustrophobic. I finish my work and sigh with relief. The bell chimes Ring, Ring, Ring! I walk home. On the way, I see something strange and a man. I wonder what he has there. I look back but he's not there. The next day. “ Yes, Saturday! ” I open my window and see the guy from yesterday! I jump into my clothes, I leap into my shoes and race out the door to townsquare. I see that he's giving out stuff for free. They were called I-ph-on-es. He gave me one! I thanked him for it and I rush inside out of the cold. This is amazing! Without warning the town builds a massive, shiny and glorious statue! It's made of 100% gold and now there is a National Technology Day. This life is extraordinary now, except for…school. Ahhh, we just hate it. If only it would change to be a better school - somehow. One week later. As I read the news on my phone, a headline grabs my attention - The school is closing down. “Yes! ” I yell at the top of my voice. My parents come running, “What? What? ” “ The school is closing down! ” I shout. “Then what are you going to learn?” Mum asks curiously. “Nothing! ” I turn the telly on to the news “ Look, Look! The school is closing down and getting turned into … a gaming development school in only 7 weeks!” 7 weeks later. “Ahh this is amazing, it's definitely a step up,” I think. My eyes widen as I see the classroom. “OMG, this is amazing.” I hear excitement bursting within the walls. I see students on computers learning how to develop games. Screens as bright as the sun. Students' smiles replace the frowns of the old school. A gaming life. Storyteller: Jackson P Imagine A World Where The Moon Takes Control Picture a world where shadows surround you. We prepared for the long journey. The creepy, slimy, unknown creatures took everything from us! Before this happened, the city was living in peace and harmony. I’ll always remember that everyone was happy. No one teased, nobody bullied and no one hurt anyone’s feelings. Everyone was polite and used manners. Tired and exhausted, everyone was gathering for the meeting (which happens every year) in the middle of the city. It was so crowded that I was squashed as flat as a pancake! As the meeting started, I heard a yawn - one by one more yawns, beginning to make me sleepy as I yawned. In the middle of my creepy, scary, gloomy dream someone woke me up, “Wake up! Wake up!!” I woke up - the voice was extremely loud. What I saw when I stood up was… TERRIFYING ALIENS!!! Plus - HORRIFYING SPACE SHIPS TOO!!! It is the exact same as my creepy dream. They’re purple, five-eyed and they had hundreds of teeth that scared, horrified and shocked me. I was too scared to speak. In fact, I was about to cry. The most memorable part was when they started a war. We had grenades, guns, tanks and lots more. But still, I hid undercover - where it’s gloomy, dull and dark. The bombs and tanks and genades echoed in my ears - BOOM! BANG! We tried everything but we were too weak. “We have to get out of this place!” I shouted, but nobody was listening to me - they were too scared too. Sadly, it's the last time I saw my country. The aliens took over our country! The only places we could go are Macedonia or Turkmenistan. We had to vote. We had 5,493 people. 2,756 people chose Macedonia, 2,737 people chose Turkmenistan. We said goodbye to our country as we sailed off. My heart dropped, my mind felt cold, my body shivered. I want to see my country already! Storyteller: Brandon O |
