Imagine A World With A Sandstorm

I’ll always remember the day I almost got lost… it was a day of silence, crying
and whimpering. I’ve never been so scared in my life. It is a day I wish will never repeat itself  again. I felt distracted, worried and alone in a box. I couldn’t breathe in or out, I felt trapped forever…

Without warning I hear my washing machine stop. I go outside and feel the windy, hot weather outside, perfect to hang up my clothes. While hanging my washing I feel a wet drop dripping down my face. Within seconds I am sweating with pressure… Everyone around me is tired and exhausted from the heat and then the wind picks up speed! Everyone; parents, children, nannies and pops, all work hard to keep the sand away. Brushing, sweeping and swooshing, but it doesn’t help -  more sand keeps coming. I look up and see the sky begins to change colour into a yellowish, greenish colour…

I drop deeper and deeper into a lost world… The wind gets heavier and stronger as it whips  and circles me. I look around and see plants being ripped out of the ground and my washing flying across the yard. I get worried. Then suddenly - the storm hits. I rush to find my mum but in the chaos surrounding us she cannot see me. She runs inside and locks the door,  leaving me stuck in the heart of the storm…

In a panic I run and I run and I run… eventually I find a cave to hide in. The wind whistles as it gets heavier, stronger and tougher. BOOM! BOOM! CRASH! The sand forms into a mini tornado, whipping grains and throwing everything into a spin. I am forced to stay in this cave for HOURS! I slowly begin to starve for food and water. I just want to sleep but I am too scared. I cry for hours and hours and hours “HELP!!! HELP!!! HELP!!!” I scream, but the sound of the wind deafens my cries for help…

The sandstorm begins to rise. But I am too scared to leave the cave. I call for help but no one comes, then I hear something… PIDDER-PADDER! CHING! CHING! It’s the sounds of paws and a collar. Then I see little ears, a pink nose and gold collar. I came out of the cave… IT’S A DOG! I cuddle my new buddy and together we brave the world and walk home together.

After every storm is a rainbow
