Imagine A World…

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! I wake up covered in sweat recovering from a nightmare. The thing is,  that I just don't remember the nightmare. It didn’t matter, I still needed to make it to work on time. My job involves naming dinosaur species which can be hard. There’s not very many names and it takes a long time to name thousands, to tens of thousands of dinosaurs. Besides, it's fun hanging out with dinosaurs…except for the big ones you don’t ever want to meet them.

There are certain things I have to do at work, but there are certain things I am restricted to do, so I have to be careful. Last week, someone fell in the Megladon pool and you can imagine what happened to him!  At this point, I don't know what's safe anymore. I have not very many names to give today, only a few. Step after step, I get closer to the small metal bars separating me from the dinosaur. It looks empty and hollow. I look closer and closer until my face is up against the metal bars and then jump back as a Compy sprints towards me in anger. My skin was rattling in shock. More violent than usual, the dinosaur was trying to attack me.  So I had to pick their names quickly before I left.

Reaching  into my pocket,  my phone was missing, so I double back to go find it. As I got to the cages I looked and I saw my phone under the cage door, blocking it from shutting so that means that the Compy could have escaped to roam freely. I turned around to find the control room door wide open. As I approached the door, it creaked open and I saw the same angry Compy getting closer to hitting the open all cage button. I slowly moved towards him, but before I could act, he hit the button opening all of the cages. He escapes sneakily and I rush to the control buttons seeing if I can stop it before anything happens!  I look on cameras watching the terror slowly unfold.  People are already screaming for their lives. I'm ready to go and do something about this, but as I turn I see…

A Raptor guarding, blocking the door, stopping me from leaving. Frozen, stuck in place, wondering if it's over for me. I have no control in my body to move at all so all I do is look around the room slowly looking for a way out. I saw the vents, the screws were undone. All I had to do was slide kick the door down which to be honest, sounds impossible, but if I can’t I kind of die,  so I said to myself 1.2.3 and sprinted for the vent. I kicked it as hard as I could, horribly failing and kneeing myself in my face, leaving a mark. I push through the pain and start climbing through. The dinosaur grips onto my ankle, with its teeth piercing through my skin and closer to the bone. I start kicking it’s head in with my other foot, slowly releasing my foot and finally letting go. Now, my foot was dripping in blood and if I didn’t bandage it up soon, it would start to attract other dinosaurs and give me fewer places to hide. I continue climbing through the vent and see light. I go towards it and see a dumpster. I brace myself and fall down making a silent bang. I take a peek seeing no one. It looked like an abandoned town with nobody. The only thing I could hear was the screams of people in the distance - so I pounced out of the dumpster.

I was going from one place to another trying to find something to patch up my ankle. I was petrified seeing blood splattered on all the walls and peoples accessories left behind. I was trying not to think of what could have done this and if it, whatever it was,  was still around. My body was shaking and my hand was rattling. I approached a medical shop relieved knowing that there would have to be something there to help me. I go into the back using the key that all employees have, and look around and see tons of supplies that could help me. I head for the bandages aisle. I found them and quickly patched up my leg and I was ready to leave.

I had a plan that inside of every control room I would use a special key that only employees have that would deploy drones.  The drones would have tranquiliser darts as ammo and they could shoot the dinosaurs to sedate them. The dinosaurs can be returned to their cages - so that's what I planned to do. Luckily for me I am right next to one of them. I bolt for it, punching the close door button in the elevator. The raptor from earlier caught sight of me was getting closer and closer to me, the elevator door only just closing in time. I reach the control floor, seeing buttons. I see a big red button and it says DEPLOY DRONES so I hit on it. After 10 minutes, all the drones had been deployed and taken care of the dinosaurs. The plan had worked and I came up to look around. I turn around seeing the raptor still awake.

Before I can react AHHHHHHHH…
