Imagine A World… Where the World Is Your Canvas

A new place, a new home, a new kingdom…Creating how the sun sets, rises, and how the world forms. All of my many ideas flash before my eyes as I write down my thoughts, with just a pencil in my hand and a white canvas in front of my face, interesting places pop up in front of my eyes. How could anyone ever have a better life than this?

I picture a wonderful land where gigantic buildings glow from below, mind boggling landscapes jump in front of me and staggering scents fill the air! All of a sudden I see people  sprint for their lives. The sound of hearing crackling fireworks makes my ears ring in pain. I’ve never seen anything like this before. What’s going on? Everyone is going crazy, something has gone wrong. I just can't put my finger on it…

Bit by bit the sky begins to crack like an egg. Pieces fall to the ground and the colour begins to drain from a breathtaking pastel blue to a dull greyish white. Lakes, rivers and oceans start to dry out, leaving only a rocky dried out surface. What is happening? How can I make this stop? Glass starts to shatter on the ground. Once again, terrified screams fill the air. I always knew this day was going to come, I just didn't know when. Everyone tragically falls to the ground as they run out of oxygen, no one's going to survive this rollercoaster…

“WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!”, I yell at the top of my lungs, but no one can hear me… People start to crumple into ashes, everywhere in the world is silent. No chirping birds, no chatter and no more barking dogs. In a panic, I grab my rubber and charge over to my canvas, immediately I erase EVERYTHING! All of my hard work, gone. I write down all of my ideas that barge into my head. Without hesitation I instantly sketch stable buildings, strong trees, and super glue down islands. Everything seems so plain…

I splash on colour and add some mountains that look like tiny boats floating in the distance, trees sway in the wind as I start to form tiny people, marine animals come back to life, terrestrial animals are now back in their natural habitat, everything is now back to normal.

Sometimes less is more…
