Imagine A World Of Endless Possibilities

Imagine a world where you can do what you want. The dream of speeding down the highway, as the wind blows my hair making me feel free and better than ever. Frying the tires as the smoke blurs my eyes.
As I step outside, my foot hits the ground. I look up to see more people around me…happy. Everyone is becoming more understanding of each other. The recent lock-down bans have had us living a trapped life.  Finally, it had been lifted. People now get to do what they please.  A Holden VL drives by,  blasting music, cruising through my street, blaring its V8 engine, as the exhaust backfires, blessing my ears. “Hey! Are you coming to the drags tonight?’’ I shout over to Jai.  “Yes of course I am,’’replied Jai sarcastically.

As the smoke blurs my vision, sparks fly off the rims. Jai revs his engine. The car purrs like a cat as it flies down the road, drifting along the bitumen into the meet. For the first time in  years, feeling freedom was beyond amazing.  My body shivered with excitement and I felt alive. Without warning…BANG!!

‘’Oh no what was that?’’ Jai questioned with a shaky voice. The steering wheel moved to the left, as Jai hops out looking anxious.  With a nervous tone he screams “MY EXHAUST…NOOOOOO!’’ The sadness washes over Jai’s face.  “The service team can replace that.’’ “That's great,” says Jai, but I know he's still upset. “Come on Jai. I will walk you over,” I say in support. “Thanks. But what if my exhaust is not the same as it was before?” said Jai with a sigh.

When we arrived at the service desk they were more than happy to fix it.  Jai’s sadness washes away. While they fix Jai's car, we soak in all of the other amazing cars that pass by.  Jai happier than ever, that his car is getting fixed. His mood lifts.  “Jai! yells the service department.  “Car is ready!”  Jai, excited, nervous and shaking, he sinks into the driver’s chair again.   As he plants his foot on the gas, he lines up for the race. “Take it easy!” I shout.

BROOM!, BROOM! Flying down the rough, black, bitumen track.  Jai felt sweat dripping down his face. As Jai feels nervous, shivers travel up his spine reaching the end of the race. “I won!” Jai screams, “Great job mate,”  I say happy for him. “I’m so glad that the rules have changed so we can do what we want,” said Jai happily.

Freedom should never be taken for granted.
