Imagine A World With A Sandstorm…

Tired and exhausted, I am startled awake by a strange noise… I open my eyes and hesitantly roll out of bed. I hear a creepy noise coming from down stairs, “oh, it’s the house creaking”, I say to myself. I sink back into bed and try to fall asleep again, but the sound is not letting me…

Without warning I hear my washing machine stop. I go outside and feel the windy, dry, hot air, it is perfect for my clothes to dry. While hanging up my clean washing I feel a wet drop of perspiration fall down my face. Within seconds I am sweating with pressure…

All of a sudden the air turns into sandy, boiling hot weather. Fog covers my eyes forcing me to rely on my other senses. Dust fills my nose and the sound of roaring wind rings in my ears. All it does is get worse and worse and worse - “OMG IT IS A SANDSTORM!” The world around me started spinning and spinning, just like a tornado. There was rubbish, plants and debris flying everywhere!

Everyone in town was freaking out but I wasn’t… I was oddly calm. I just had a feeling something good was going to happen. And I was right. After hours of chaos the sandstorm eventually stopped… but the aftermath was terrible. Days of dusty thick and clumpy weather, every inch of the town was covered in sand and no amount of cleaning could fix it. Then that feeling I had came back. Whatever it was, something good was coming…

I was outside relaxing and then it came - a wet drop fell down my face once again... this time it wasn't sweat. This time it was… “RAIN!” I knew it was a good feeling! Everyone in town was excited, especially me. The rain was cleaning the town. It was magical. I was standing in the downpour watching it cleanse the town. You could see the cars get their bright colours back, the roofs of the houses turned back to normal and you could see out of the windows once again. It was beautiful.

After every storm, there is a rainbow.
