Imagine A World Where Your Pets Are Spies

The clock goes ticktock ticktock and my cat Tom purrs as I pat him ‘’why do you always come to me when I lay down all the time?’’ The couch gives me a warm hug as I drift off to sleep. By the time I had woken up Tom was gone… I went back to sleep, but then that caused a big problem later…

I awakened to a deafening silence. I should hear him by now… I tiptoe down the hall and go into the playroom, I shove everything out of my way searching for Tommy. But then I realised my other cat Trixie is also missing… Doors slamming with frightened shouts for them and creating a mess in panic, where could they be?

Hours have passed and there is no sign of them. Suddenly I hear a deafening  BANG! ‘’What was that?’’ I turn into a sneaky ninja, ready to fight whatever is on the other side. As I approach my bedroom door, I slowly open the door… There was nothing to be seen? It was like the house was haunted by ghosts. I was scared, frightened and worried. Where could they be?.. Suddenly a light shines in my face, is it Tommy? Could that be him? It can’t be Tommy because he can not turn on a light switch on… could he? But the light was coming from my room. Maybe mum was home? Cat hair floats in the air outside my door, I wait, when did I close my bedroom door? I remember me leaving it open, As I slowly opened the door I saw…Tommy! What are you doing standing on your back legs like that?...

“How on this earth are you standing up like me?” I asked, gobsmacked. “Well it's kind of hard to explain,”said Tom “Wait a minute, how are you talking like me and not meowing?” I ask in a panic, confused by what I am witnessing. “Well I think you should know now that I am not an ordinary cat, Trixie and I are spies.. you know that we have a secret base in the living room? Wait, why am I telling you this again?” Replied Tommy. The couch catches me as I fall back in shock and confusion.  “We have been here a lot longer than you have been” Said Tom “What do you mean we…?” I ask in disbelief. All of a sudden I see something dart across the room in the corner of my eye…

Without warning the tiny figure disappeared into thin air into the night, nowhere to be seen. “What was that?” I ask Tom curiously “ I have to go- duty calls!” Tommy leaps as fast as a lightning bolt after the mysterious creature. “I don't think I should be telling anyone about this” I whisper to myself. Tired and exhausted I head back to my room, still in shock about my two cats' secret lives. I hope they take me on adventures soon…

Could you imagine this world?
