Round 2 of Interschool Sport had a chilly start, but the sun soon came out—and so did our students’ determination and team spirit! We travelled away to take on Ashley Park, and what a day it turned out to be! Not only did the weather warm up, but so did our teams--all six of them came away with a win! It was fantastic to see our students playing with confidence, supporting one another, and representing our school so proudly across AFL 9s, soccer and netball. A special thank you goes out to our fabulous Grade 5 fill-ins: Zara, Shaelah, Viaan, Arianna and Ayvah. Your contributions helped make the day such a success. The results speak for themselves—check them out below!

Over the past two weeks, MPPS proudly celebrated National PE and Sport Week – a time to recognise the importance of movement, teamwork, and having fun through physical activity.
To mark the occasion, our amazing Grade 6 Student Leaders stepped up to organise and run exciting breaktime activities for each learning community. Their energy, organisation, and leadership helped make the week a big success! Here’s how we celebrated:
Check out some of the highlights below! We kicked off Term 2 Interschool Sport with great energy, strong teamwork, and loads of school spirit! This round saw our teams take on Hazel Glen College in AFL 9s, soccer, and netball. It was a beautiful autumn morning—perfect weather for a morning full of sport, fun, and friendly competition. Our netball and soccer teams played at school, while the AFL 9s team headed to Waterview Reserve for their matches. A huge thank you to our amazing Grade 5 students—Agustya, Radin, Shaelah, Tiana, Tallulah, Zara, Maddison, Leah and Lily—for stepping up and filling in when we needed you. Your enthusiasm and effort made a big difference! We’re so proud of everyone who represented our school with pride and great sportsmanship. Check out the results from Round 1 below!
We wrapped up Term 1 with an energetic and exciting Fun Run, and what a fantastic way to finish the term it was! The oval came alive with colour as students proudly dressed in their house colours, cheering each other on and giving it their all.
A huge congratulations to the students from CLC and YYLC who finished in the top 10 of their age groups – these students will now go on to represent our school at the District Cross Country on Wednesday, 28th May. We wish them all the best! A big thank you to all the staff who helped with setting up and running the event, and a special shout-out to our amazing Grade 6 student leaders for supporting the younger students and assisting with pack-up. Your leadership and enthusiasm helped make the day a success! Congratulations to all our students who participated in Term 1 Interschool Sport! It was fantastic to see so many students representing our school with great sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm across Cricket, Basketball, and Tee Ball.
We are proud of all teams for their amazing efforts and achievements throughout the season. Every game was played with determination and great team spirit — you should all be very proud! Please see the final ladder placements below. We are looking forward to an exciting Term 2 of sport ahead! A huge thank you to Whittlesea Pacers Basketball and their amazing coaches Luke, Raheem, and Matt for running an incredible 6-week basketball program with our Grade 1–4 students at MPPS! Our students have learned so much, and their basketball skills have improved immensely. We’re so grateful for the time, effort, and energy the coaches brought to every session. Even Maddi has learned a great deal from the program, which she’ll continue to share in future PE lessons. Thank you again for such a positive and engaging experience! Today’s lunchtime was filled with excitement as the Grade 6 students took on the staff in an epic basketball showdown! With the sun shining and a huge crowd of students cheering from the sidelines, the energy was electric.
Both teams brought their A-game, showing off teamwork, skill, and plenty of friendly competition. The students had speed and determination, while the staff relied on experience (and maybe a little extra height!). Every basket was met with roars from the crowd, and the game stayed close from start to finish. In the end, after all matches were combined, the final score was a thrilling 10-10 draw—proving that both sides gave it their all! More than just a game, it was a fantastic display of sportsmanship, fun, and school spirit. Already looking forward to the next rematch! 🏀👏 After Round 6 was unfortunately washed out due to rainy weather, we were excited to get back into action for the final round of Term 1 Interschool Sport. In Round 7, we faced Whittlesea Primary School's B side and put in an outstanding performance, winning 6 out of 7 matches! Basketball and Tee-Ball played on-site at MPPS, while Cricket travelled to Waterview Reserve for their game. A huge thank you to our Grade 5 students—George, Luca, Freya, Tallulah, and Tiana—for filling in and supporting their teams. The final ladder results will be posted next week, so keep an eye out for the standings! Well done to all teams for their hard work and dedication throughout the term!
This morning, our school was buzzing with excitement as students rolled, scooted, and skated their way to school for National Ride2School Day! It was fantastic to see so many families choosing an active start to the day, and the energy on the basketball courts was amazing. A big thank you to all the students and families who participated—you helped make the morning so special! A special shoutout to our incredible teachers who assisted with crowd control, handed out stickers, and captured some great moments. Check out the photos and videos below to see the fun in action! 📸🎥 Remember, walking or riding to and from school isn’t just for today—it’s a great way to stay active, spend time together as a family, and help the environment. Let’s keep the momentum going and make active travel part of our daily routine!
It was a late start today as we faced Donnybrook at home. Due to a change in plans, our cricket teams had to stay on-site at MPPS instead of travelling to Waterview Reserve. A big thank you to our coaches and players for their flexibility and teamwork in ensuring everything was set up smoothly. A massive congratulations to our mixed basketball and cricket teams, who remain undefeated this season! Overall, we had a strong performance, winning 5 out of 7 matches today. Well done to all teams for their efforts and sportsmanship. A special thank you to our Grade 5 students—Gianni, Levi, Talia, and Misty—for stepping in and helping out today. Your contributions were greatly appreciated! Looking ahead to next week, please note that the school we are versing does not have a cricket team, so only Tee Ball and Basketball will be competing. Great job, everyone! Let’s keep up the fantastic work and continue to play with skill, effort, and great sportsmanship. Scores and Ladder Update:
